  6. Thank you for taking a look at "F & L". F & L is short for "forms
  7. & letters".  These are a set of files in popular word processing
  8. formats.  Unlike other forms or letter packages, these files are
  9. already formatted saving you hours of time! These particular files
  10. are aimed at business users.
  11.  
  12. (This program is also available for PC's and compatibles. Files are in
  13. ASCII and WordPerfect 5.1 format. Look for filename FANDL10.ZIP.)

  15. "F & L" was written by David A. Works, a member of the Association of
  16. Shareware Professionals (ASP).

  21. If you have read enough already and want to start, here are some
  22. instructions to get started. More help is available in the "User's
  23. Guide".

  28. Requirements
  29.  
  30. Any Mac with a word processing or page layout program will do
  31. fine. Ideally, program should have merge capability. If you have
  32. Microsoft Word 4.0 or Works 2.0 (or greater) the files are ready
  33. to go and include sample formats, styles, fonts (Helvetica and
  34. Times), and some very simple graphics (like boxes). These files
  35. are designed for use by those with a basic (not advanced)
  36. knowledge of word processing.

  42. The files are in three formats: Text, Word 4.0 and Works. If you
  43. have Word 4.0, open the "Word" folder and double-click on any
  44. document to open it. If you have Works 2.0, open the "Works"
  45. folder and double-click on any document to open it. If you don't
  46. have either, your word processor or page layout program can import
  47. all the documents in the "Text" folder.

  102.      All users can obtain Technical Support either by U. S.
  103. Mail, CompuServe Email (70400,153), GEnie (D.Works3), or
  104. America OnLine (DavidW2959).  We will try our best to fully
  105. support unregistered users during their evaluation period,
  106. but we will give priority to registered users, if necessary.
  107. Registered users become eligible to receive free, unlimited
  108. Technical Support by telephone.

  114.      Shareware describes a method of distributing
  115. copyrighted software in which a user is allowed to fully
  116. evaluate the software before purchasing it.  After an
  117. evaluation period, the user is required to register the
  118. product if s/he decides to keep using it.

  120.      Shareware distribution addresses all the legitimate
  121. complaints that users have with commercial software
  122. distribution.

  124.  •    Shareware allows a user to fully evaluate a product, free of
  125.     charge, in his or her home, *before* deciding to buy it.

  128.     Boards, through Shareware disk distributors, or through user

  135.     requests for help or bug fixes than large software companies.

  140.     In short, Shareware is a user's dream come true. Users
  141. show their appreciation to developers for this extremely
  142. flexible distribution scheme by registering their software.
  143. Without user registrations Shareware software would
  144. gradually disappear.  It is not sufficient to simply let the
  145. "other guy" pay the registration. You are the other guy's
  146. "other guy".

  150.     Shareware is not "free" software.  Shareware is not
  151. Public Domain software.  The fee that you may have paid to
  152. receive a Shareware program does not mean that the software
  153. has been paid for. This money was paid to a Shareware disk
  154. vendor, User Group, Bulletin Board Service or retailer to
  155. cover their cost of getting the program to you.  Shareware
  156. software is paid for by registering your copy with the
  157. author.
